I shall include yesterday's happenings in this too...yesterday I was out with my gf at Bugis junction. Then I saw Cynthia Koh walking around in the store. At first I didn't recognize her fully, but then I did. But she looked so ordinary. But if I hadn't known, she would just be another face in the crowd, unglam.
It's funny, I think, how we sometimes attribute uniqueness or some kind of special quality to those people we see on TV or something, but when they are out, they are just trying to blend into the background and not be noticeable. Actually she looked a bit punk...with dyed light brown hair gelled spiky, wearing geeky specs, white shirt and jeans. There was another guy with him, who I recognized to be the guy from zhi2 chang3 da4 ming2 xing1...later then I found out that they are supposed to be a couple. Anyway they were wearing similar stuff top to bottom.
Back to today...wah I heard Scallop share about his dreams for CRuSH, and I feel excited man. I really hope everything takes off, and we have the human resource that we need. And every single one of the students here in Planet CRuSH has a role to play in living out the dream too. Yeah.
Man, it didn't rain; it poured. My shoes are waterlogged and my socks are soaked. Despite the umbrella. It hasn't rained this hard for a loooooong time man. Just too bad it rained when I haven't gotten home yet. Something weird though...one of the blocks near to my house has an extension of the block with a lift due to upgrading. I was walking past it, and there was this loud roaring sound, and water was rushing down the staircase from above like rapids (mini waterfalls if you wish), and it looked like a river ran through it. Maybe some water pipe burst upstairs...ah well.

Wow it's been a really long time since I've found time to update my journal. Actually a lot of interesting and weird things happened along the way, but I couldn't find time to type it out.
Here are some silly ones: found a dead pigeon on the road once. Quite disgusting. Apparently ran over by some vehicle...there's a bloody pink mess spread out flattened. Looks like it's the innards. My mum killed the spider in the bathroom. I've been feeding it a lot of insects I caught all this while, until it was more than twice the size I first saw it. One day I saw that it disappeared, and there was a little black stain on the wall, and the web was gone too. Went to ask my mum and she said she killed it, and that she didn't know I was keeping a spider. (In a very amused tone.)
Been buried under a ton of work. The good and bad thing about studying in NIE: there are no exams. No exams meaning that after the course, you can rest. No need to mug like mad for several papers that you likely have to wake up super early for. BUT no exams mean it's continual assessment. And continual assessment for 7 modules = lots of assignments plus projects. Worse if it's group work...spend a lot of time discussing.
Today was the second time I went to catch "the Great Escape". Dunno how many know about it, but anyway the turnout was quite good. For those who are interested in catching the magic show part, I think a better bet would be "the magic of love" magical musical, coming in October. Stella Ng was there too! They had a performance which was shown at the NDP actually...some drums track with dancers playing with a huge barrel of confetti. That track happens to be my favourite track (Played Alive by Safri Duo) so I was quite happy to hear it with a heavy duty sound system.
The most interesting part of the day: I was roaming around Carrefour hoping to get a cupboard. When I was leaving I saw this huge crowd at the ground floor. I checked it out and saw that it was Bryan Wong there. They were having some special episode of Quan2 Xing1 Zong3 Dong4 Yuan2 Snap...the one that Kym Ng and Bryan Wong each go hunt down three contestants for the competition of the day. Today's one was the best skin. So I stayed an extra 1 hour plus just to watch the whole thing being filmed. Very interesting. Showbiz is tough man.
